Adventures into Weird Worlds 6, 1952

Adventures into Weird Worlds no.6, May 1952 from pre-Marvel Atlas.

Another scintillating Bill Everett cover. I love the idea of a normal looking man seeing a fiendish reflection of himself in the mirror. The question I’ve always had about this cover is why is the woman screaming? Can she see his reflection from that angle? Or is she horrified that he’s using her mirror (perfume bottle and jewelry box)? This is one of the better “film strip” covers that Atlas employed on some of their horror anthologies. Everett actually managed to capture details in these tiny thumbnails.

This issue is packed with future Marvel Age artists: Joe Sinnott, George Roussos, Jim Mooney, and Werner Roth.
