Top Shelf Marvel Omnibus List

Not only has Cory Sedlmeier been the editor of Marvel Masterworks best years and finest levels of restoration, but he has also been at the helm of some amazing work on the Omnibus line as well.

The restoration work on Cory Sedlmeier volumes does the original work justice. Even the letters pages are brought back in a restored form. Each volume has a sizable amount of extras, from original art to house ads to unused artwork.

A few of these, I already have in Masterworks editions.

  1. Fantastic Four Volume 1 – June 2005

  33. The Amazing Spider-Man Volume 3 – May 2017
  34. Deadly Hands of Kung Fu Volume 2 – June 2017

There are four more volumes announced for this year and, hopefully, many more on the near horizon. It sounds like Monsters Vol 1 sold well (more than 1600 presales). This bodes well for Ditko or even finished Strange Tales and Journey into Mystery runs to see the light of day.

What I’m really anticipating is a comprehensive Bill Everett Omnibus, given that this year is the 100th anniversary of his birth. Finishing Venus, his post-war Sub-Mariner work and a best of edition of his horror and sci-fi work from the 50s would be amazing.
