Daredevil no.11, 1942

Daredevil Comics no.11, June 1942 from Lev Gleason/Comic House. Creepy cover art by Charles Biro.  I love this cover.

This would be the last issue for two great strips: Real American Number One featuring Native American hero the Bronze Terror (see some of my previous posts) and Pat Patriot (who appeared before Wonder Woman).

Though the interior art for Quasimodo is good, the Daredevil strip is definitely not Biro’s best work.

The last panel for Real American promises that next issue will have a melodrama from the Old West, which of course didn’t happen. It’s too bad: this strip was definitely underrated and had a lot more to develop.

Pat Patriot had the same type of next month promise.
